In Memory: Maureen Taylor

Maureen only joined the BATS in 1983, but I only met her in 2000 when I made a point of congratulating her on her performance in Daisy Pulls It Off. Maureen played many and varied roles in BATS productions - working her way up - learning the trade - something which she always insisted was the right way to learn and gain experience. She served on the General Committee quite recently, and was also part of the last play selection committee. She supported our Club Nights with enthusiasm and made many friends through her association with us.

We were all deppely saddened by her death on 22nd July.

Maureen, we enjoyed your company - God Bless - We shall miss you.

I was lucky enough to have acted alongside Maureen in several productions, most noteably Travels With My Aunt, directed her in two plays (Scenes From a Memory and Play On) and to have served with her on the Play Selection Committee for the BATS.

Maureen had a natural warmth and sense of humour that made her wonderful fun to work with and to socialise with. I hope that the archive photos above will help bring fond memories of Maureen back to all her many friends.
